Mogren Cove is one of the most popular diving sites in Montenegro. Located near Mogren 2 Beach, it is only about 15 minutes by boat from the Diving Center. This location is known for its fascinating rock formations, as on a relatively small area you can discover underwater canyons, a tunnel, and even a cave that you can surface in and explore from the inside, as it has an air pocket.

We start the dive in shallow waters, at a depth of about 3 meters, which makes it very easy to descend, equalize pressure, and achieve neutral buoyancy before we continue swimming toward the open sea, to the south, where the depth gradually increases. The maximum depth of this dive is 18 meters, making it ideal for both Open Water divers and those with higher certifications and experience.

After spending a few minutes at the maximum depth, we slowly turn and begin swimming back toward the cove and the boat, gradually reducing depth. On the way back, we will visit underwater canyons – narrow passages between and beneath large rocks, where we move slowly along the bottom. Don’t worry, it’s impossible to get stuck! Our instructor Milan, who is nearly 2 meters tall and weighs 120 kg, easily passes through the canyon, so if he can, you definitely can too. 😉 Of course, if you don’t like confined spaces, let your instructor know, and they’ll take you on an alternative route.

Next, we enter an underwater tunnel that is completely open at the surface, so you can snorkel through it, but it’s much better to experience it underwater because the colors and the tiny marine life hidden in the cracks become more visible. The tunnel is between 0 and 6 meters deep and about 15 meters long.

Towards the end of the dive, we enter a cave, but not just any cave! This cave has an air pocket, allowing us to surface and observe the stalactites from the inside. The cave is big enough for several divers and an instructor to be inside at once, and the natural light filtering through cracks allows excellent visibility. The air inside is fresh, and you can safely breathe while enjoying the view. The cave has a depth of 0-4 meters and is spacious enough for a comfortable stay.

Finally, we finish the dive near the boat, with a mandatory safety stop.

Marine life: during the dive, you can see octopuses, moray eels, lobsters, various fish species, most commonly parrotfish, triggerfish, breams, mullets, and barracudas.

This dive is perfect in combination with the Tunnels dive site!
